Oceanside Barn Owls
Mel (male) & Sydney (female), are a mating pair of barn owls located in Oceanside, California. The owl box owner is originally from Melbourne, Australia. The box was set up in mid November 2010 and the owls could be seen in the box just two weeks later.
This owl box is 16ft above the ground in the owners back yard which is near acres of open wilderness. This provides for plenty of hunting grounds for the owls.

Thanks Chris, he certainly deserves a break,
Thanks Chris.. I agree he deserves a break.. I have enjoyed watching these owls ‘ but not many did this year…appreicated his maintaining the owl box for us to enjoy.. Thank you Kanga❤️
I did watch for about 4-5 years but then nature got too raw for me. It was very nice for Kanga to supplement meals for the youngsters but as you know the smallest and last born would ultimately perish.
Does Darlene still post? Darlene Salisbury – if anyone is in touch with het, please tell her I send my best wishes! I was going thru a divorce and she sent me the prettiest Barn Owl night light to cheer me up!! Thanks, Andrea
